The Eastbourne Community Choir

NEW VENUE AND DAY FOR THE EASTBOURNE COMMUNITY CHOIR!

I am delighted to say that on Friday September 6th 7.30-9.15pm the The Eastbourne Community Choir will begin meeting in its wonderful new venue - the hall of Emmanuel Church, 48A Upperton Road, Eastbourne BN21 1LQ.

If you have never attended The Eastbourne Community Choir before, your first session during September 2024 will be free of charge.

The term runs until December 13th. There will be no meeting on either Friday October 18th or Friday October 25th.

Payment is by card or cash. Each session costs £8 which includes tea, coffee and biscuits during our 20-min break.

We meet 40 weeks of the year with the aim of singing for fun, singing for health and making new friends. There is no commitment, no need to read music and lyric sheets are provided.

Live piano is used, and the music ranges from Pop Classics of the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s to Songs from the Shows, Traditional Spirituals and Classical Songs.

Our new venue - The Hall, Emmanuel Church, 48a Upperton Road, Eastbourne BN21 1LQ - is step-free (via a lift), fully-accessible and extremely well-equipped. We meet most Fridays of the year from 7.30pm to 9.15pm. The church is on the corner of Watt's Lane and Upperton Road. Parking is available on-site and Bus Routes 51, 54 and 98 stop 90m from the church (Moatcroft Rd).

Performance opportunities are sometimes available with The Eastbourne Community Choir. We have recently sung a lovely Christmas concert at All Saints' Church, Grange Road and have also performed in The Beacon Centre, at 'Sovereign Shines' and at The View Hotel. There will be no major Christmas concert this year and we look forward to enjoying each Friday in our new venue for its own merits.

We are an extremely friendly, non-judgemental group. Whether you think you can sing or you think you can't, you are equally welcome!

The dates for the Autumn Term 2024 are Friday September 6th to Friday December 13th, with no meeting on either Friday October 18th or Friday October 25th.

Average attendance is about 40 people, so you will have plenty of vocal support! We do not sit in voice-parts (although you may choose to do so) so it is fine to sit with your partners, family or friends. There is plenty of space and ventilation, excellent central -heating and lighting and outstanding facilities in our modern rehearsal venue.

There is no need to book - please feel free just to turn up! We look forward to welcoming you to the choir!
