Local charity Engage runs two clubs in Hadlow Down, Wealden.
The TN22 club is a social lunch club for older people running from 10.30 am – 2 pm on alternate Wednesdays in Hadlow Down village hall. We offer friendly companionship and fun for people living in rural Wealden (not just TN22 area). We have varying activities and entertainment and one of the highlights of the day is a freshly prepared 2-course lunch. We also have summer outings and coffee mornings on extra days. We positively welcome new members.
Cost for the session is £10 plus volunteer transport costs, if appropriate.
To book your place, or try us out first and have a taster session, please contact Julie Fitzgerald on 07747 635667 or email: [email protected]
We are in great need of more volunteers to join our existing band, particularly drivers, which enables our members to get to and from the club. If you would like more information, do contact Julie on the contact details above.
We also have the TN22 Plus club for people with memory loss and mild to moderate dementia on the alternate Wednesdays from 10.30am - 3.30pm. We are committed to providing personalised support to enhance our members' well being and to help them continue to do the things they enjoy. Carers benefit by having the peace of mind that their loved one is cared for in a stimulating and caring environment. Volunteer transport may be available if there is capacity. To find out more or to book a taster day, please call Wendy on 07961 450357 or email [email protected]
Engage is a small charity with a large team of volunteers. If you're interested in volunteering with us, please contact one of the Managers for more information. We apply for grant funding and fundraising to support our activities and to keep costs as low as we can.
