East Sussex Recovery Alliance [ESRA] Supports people who are in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. ESRA runs a vibrant and inclusive recovery hub in Hastings located in an area of identified deprivation with a café at its heart. Groups and activities are run Monday, Wednesday and Friday and these are well attended.
We are supporting most of our clients to follow an abstinence-based programme and offer SMART Groups with recovery tools to help to do this. This programme introduces tools to the clients to support their recovery e.g. Goal Setting; Relapse Prevention; Triggers; Problem Solving with peers; Coping with Urges; Managing thoughts and feelings which helps people to manage their pathway and reach their full potential, this encourages and enables them to reintegrate into their communities. We have also seen some good results following on from the programmes that we offer where clients have been able to think about going back to work, education, or training.
We are also looking to encourage clients who undertake our SMART recovery programmes to become facilitators using our SMART license which they can do free of charge so that they can set up their own SMART Groups in their own communities, ensuring that they van build their own recovery capital using an asset based approach. East Sussex is a large urban and rural area and there is a lack of Recovery Support. Although we are based in Hastings we offer support to clients throughout East Sussex right across the county and have referrals from Eastbourne, Hailsham, Battle Lewes, Rye , Bexhill , Maresfield , Burwash and Ikclesham.
In Hastings we are based at:5 Harold Place, Hastings TN34 1JA.
