Wildflower Lewes

Community Group based in Lewes, meeting monthly online via Zoom, annually in person at Linklater Pavilion (accessible venue). No joining fee.

The group was set up to encourage and increase wildflowers and therefore pollinators and other wildlife throughout Lewes. We work with councils and other agencies and groups to improve the environment for wildlife. We carry out wildflower surveys on sites within Lewes that are being managed for wildflowers, some of which have been specially planted.  We have a High Street Pollinator Corridor project to encourage shops, offices and homes down the High Street from the prison crossroads to the junction with South Street to have troughs or gardens with wildflowers; providing a corridor for insects to live, meet and reproduce across the urban centre of Lewes.  This supports invertebrates and the wildlife that feeds on them.

We have a wildflower nursery, set up within a donated space in a private garden, in which we now raise our own wildflower plug plants.
