Description
Networx was formed by Churches Together for Eastbourne, and is a registered charity and voluntary organisation coordinating and supporting the effort from representatives of churches, community groups and statutory agencies for refugees and those seeking asylum.
Our aim is to settle families into the Eastbourne community, as UK citizens, which is approximately a five year journey.
If you are an immigrant in Eastbourne, with little or no recourse to public funds (NRPF) and you need support, do get in touch.
Our funds are used to support families with their various needs such as help with furniture, bedding, curtains, clothes, shoes, school uniforms or food.
We are available to help with lifts to appointments, support with paperwork, support with understanding letters from schools, registering for Parent Pay, understanding the right way to do things and how to help with homework, someone to practise English with and someone to trust as a friend, or someone with whom to laugh or cry.
Many of our befrienders have the skills of life, which they learned in their area of work, for example, those who have worked in medical practice, education, law, or technology, this helps us to support specific needs.
