Sussex Wildlife Trust is passionate about connecting the next generation with our county’s amazing wildlife as well as providing opportunities for young people to learn essential skills for careers in conservation. We want to tackle barriers which limit engagement with the natural world, by providing free, accessible, and fun events.
Deneway's Wild Future
Deneways Wild Future is a youth-led reserve project to allow young people aged 16-25 the opportunity to manage, maintain, and decide what happens at this valuable greenspace whilst working in partnership with staff and local groups.
Youth Rangers (For 16 to 25 year olds)
We have one group so come and join us as a volunteer at one or more sessions for practical conservation work at various green spaces. The aim is to help improve these areas for wildlife (and people) while having fun, learning new skills, gaining valuable experience and enhancing job and other volunteering prospects. No experience necessary. Everybody is very welcome.
Youth Action events
Sussex Youth in Nature, an events programme for young people from Sussex Wildlife Trust. These are free and accessible events and workshops for 16-25 year olds based at various locations across Sussex. They offer the opportunity to learn more about nature through craft, conservation, and species identification.
Wildlife Rangers (For 12 to 16 year olds)
Have fun being part of a group of young people who get outdoors on Saturdays and during the school holidays. Become a Wildlife Ranger and join other teenagers taking action to protect and learn about local wildlife, bushcraft skills and much more.
Come along to our Wildlife Rangers groups and work for wildlife during the school holidays.
