For 60 years we have been providing a person-centred, community alternative to institutional care.
Our dynamic approach to supporting people with complex support needs enables us to respond flexibly to people’s changing requirements. We offer support to people in their own homes or in our enhanced supported living services. We are experienced at managing the transition from a hospital or secure unit setting and work in close partnership with local agencies to ensure the right support for each individual.
We support adults with a wide range of learning disabilities, and the physical health conditions that often go hand in hand with their diagnosis. Our person-centred approach focuses on identifying the needs and wishes of each individual and developing a support plan with them, their families and their social workers, that meets their needs and aspirations.
We offer tailored support for autistic people who often require a lifetime of specialist care. Our support focuses largely on communication – verbal, non-verbal, reference objects, their responses to their environment and understanding their sensory needs. Our aim is to enable them to develop their confidence and independence and enable them to thrive in their local community.
Many of the people we support have mental health needs. We support people who have severe mental illness, and who may also have additional support needs including substance use as well as learning disabilities or autism. We deliver person centred, trauma-informed care that acknowledges the person’s past experiences and supports them on their road to recovery through collaboration, building relationships and empowerment.
We support people with mild to severe acquired brain injuries (ABI), where they need long term, perhaps lifetime care. We support people in our supported living services to become more independent, re-learning skills, making use of assistive technology, and other tactics to enable them to have choice and control in their lives.
Many of the people we support will require lifetime care.
Our supported living services and our care homes are staffed 24 hours a day, and our staff are fully trained to meet the needs of the residents.
We also deliver Support at Home services, where we visit people in their homes and support them with their finances, their health appointments and shopping, to enable them to continue to live independently.
Our day services provide opportunities for fun, friendship, sports and learning.
