Hi to all you Dads out there.
Our group was set up originally over ten years ago by Face to Face/Scope. We are a group for dads of additional need children/adults and male carers in the Brighton/Hove and surrounding areas. We are now funded and have been under the umbrella of Amaze for over seven years. This group is for dads/male carers of all ages of additional needs - children to adults.
We have a monthly meet at the Stoneham Pub Hove, last Thursday of every month 7.30 till 9.30 run by Darren.
In these meetings which are funded by AMAZE (held in the corner of the main quiet bar area) we can talk through problems or issues that have come up with our children/adults with each other and find possible answers or where to go to next. Also, some dads like to just chat and relax, because living with an additional needs family member can be stressful. Occasionally, we have a guest speaker from an organisation, to talk about something specific i.e. Headteacher of Downview Link School, or a health or wellbeing professional. We also have a closed group on Facebook for dads/carers which is for everyone's benefit, even people that cannot attend the monthly meets because of their busy lifestyle. We now also have a WhatsApp group.
If you would like to join in on these please email me for further information.
Regards Darren (Dads Group Coordinator)
