Description
The Pelham Counselling Service offers therapy in a safe and confidential environment for young people (aged 11+) and adults.
The Pelham Counselling Service has been growing since its launch in September 2021 and we now have a range of expertise in our team of nine counsellors (Our counselling service lead plus 8 sessional counsellors), from integrative counsellors to person-centred, gestalt, CBT and psychotherapist.
Our counsellors are provided with mentoring and managerial supervision from our counselling service lead on a daily basis. Counsellors complete peer supervision, Managerial supervision and attend their own personal supervision, in line with BACP guidelines on supervision. With the expansion of the service group supervision will also be offered to our counsellors and students. All counsellors and students are required to be a member of a professional body in order to work at The Pelham. This can be with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) or the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). This ensures accountability and a best-practice standard for the counselling service.
The Pelham Counselling Service offers a flexible approach to engaging with clients, for example by including offering bursaries or allowing sessions to be fortnightly, or as flexible as possible. We offer in-person and remote counselling via Zoom or phone to enable us to be accessible to all.
We are also beginning to offer regular workshops, including "Building Resillience".
Our full priced counselling sessions are £50.
