Only 6% of adults with learning disabilities are in paid employment.
This means 94% are in unpaid work, day care or stuck at home.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

• Supported Employment: With the right support, people with learning disabilities and autism can be happy and valued employees in any industry.
• Supported Apprenticeships: Apprenticeships are a real job that allow you to ‘earn’ while you ‘learn’, and work towards a qualification relevant to your specific job role. Our supported apprenticeship programme is designed specifically for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Supported Work Training: Our Supported Work Training programme is based on our farm site in Beckley, East Sussex. We offer a variety of different activity groups that allow adults with autism and learning disabilities to learn specific tasks as well as improving their work skills, such as their communication, teamwork and confidence. This allows our trainees to become more independent and build up their skillset leading up to getting a paid job. We also run two social enterprises; with cut flowers and charcoal. These allow our trainees to gain workplace specific goals such as customer service skills, using IT and maintaining stock.
• Little Gate Rangers: There’s so much fun to be had at Little Gate Farm that we hardly know where to start! Whether you like art, crafts, animals, treasure hunts, building dens or simply playing in the great outdoors then the Young Rangers is the perfect place to be.Our Young Rangers are aged from 8 upwards. They meet at weekends and in school holidays throughout the year. We run the activities as groups – one-to-one support can be provided but there would be an extra charge for this.
• Family Support: Families of children with learning disabilities or autism receive a good level of support from the state while their children are aged 18 or younger.But from the age of 19 this support is withdrawn, leaving many families feeling that they are standing on a cliff edge – suddenly dealing with the same situation, just with far less assistance.
