Lewes Passion Play - Lewes Christian Arts

Lewes Passion Play is a registered charity is now working as  Lewes Christian Arts   The refreshed Lewes Christian Arts will include all art forms, not just theatre, for events which will happen throughout the year, rather than only Easter.  We are seeking new members for our 'Makers' core group who will help to make things happen, with our mission of promoting arts events created by our ecumenical Christian community.

Our main purpose is to enable the Christian faith to be accessed by all through dramatic and musical performances, exhibitions, broadcasting, producing and distributing literature to enlighten others.

Over the past 20 years we have performed the Lewes Passion play on a 5 yearly basis but since the pandemic in 2020 we found that fewer people wish to be involved in large scale productions.

We hold a variety of activities: social gatherings, performance workshops, props making, set building, exhibitions, music and singing. Ideas are welcomed, explored and brought to life.

The planning team meet regularly to ensure events are brought to fruition.

Everyone is welcome to join us, to offer ideas, support and organisational skills, and become involved in whatever capacity suits them best; it is not just about performance.
