Society of Catholic Artists (Regional Group) (SCAR)

Regional Group to develop Christian Art.

Society of Catholic Artists was founded in 1929, Sussex Regional Group from 1984.  Meets bi-monthly at members' studios - houses first Sundays for varied programme of discussion, events and support.  Annual Brighton Festival exhibition of recent work, contribute to national and international conferences and exhibitions.  Some members link to S.I.A.C (International Society of Christian Artists) and Christian Arts.  We acknowledge the influence of the Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic.  Members practising stained glass, painting, carving, calligraphy, illustration and other crafts are able to meet church and private commissions.  We also have Icon painters.

We welcome Catholic artists, students and also interested lay people to join us.
