I am also a pianist/accompanist. I am able to offer accompaniment for my students, and anyone else, for exams, recitals etc
As an experienced teacher of the Alexander technique I am also well able to help with a range of issues around posture, breathing, physical difficulties eg RSI, focal dystonia and many more. I also have direct experience of severe dental problems and advanced dentistry and can offer support and advice to brass players experiencing similar issues.
A security deposit is payable, fully refunded on return of the instrument in the same condition as issued.
New in 2022 Group Lessons and Free Instrument Loan.
I am now offering group lessons for beginners, and group coaching for players of comparable standard - eg band sections.
Groups can be from 2-4 and the cost adjusted so that with free instrument loan you can learn the trombone at minimal cost (some effort is still required). Having already a lot of experience teaching groups at school level I was frustrated a little by having to use multi-instrument band methods, and I have now written an entirely new course of study for the trombone exclusively based around it's particular features and difficulties. This is already proving very successful and I am looking forward to using it to develop more new trombonists of all ages.
Along with the above I am also offering free instrument loan
I have built up a small collection of excellent quality student instruments and will offer free loan for the duration of any period of regular lessons. This means that a student who wants to try out the instrument can do so at minimal expense and trouble.
This facility also includes periodic upgrades so that a student can begin with a veteran instrument, removing most of the concern about accidental damage ruining an expensive brand new one, and then upgrade as they develop confidence in handling and playing.
A security deposit is payable, fully refunded on return of the instrument in the same condition as issued. The security deposit can also be taken as part payment in the event that someone wants to purchase the loan trombone or any other trombone.
