The residences at Pembury are situated on the main Cornford Lane site, within walking distance of Pembury High Street where there are shops, a post-office and a bus service linking us to the nearby towns of Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. The Tunbridge Wells Hospital is less than a mile away.
This site includes eight residential homes that can accommodate between six to nine individuals, depending on the house. We provide service for individuals with high dependency needs and severe to moderate learning disabilities, physical disabilities, those within the autistic spectrum and complex behaviours. The houses facilities include an open plan lounge, dining room and fully fitted kitchen; some will have accessible wheelchair entrance, conservatory, paved patio or spacious gardens. Each house has been adapted to meet the requirements of the residents.
The service has a core team of staff which includes senior Support Workers and Care Coordinators, who hold overall responsibility. We offer sleep-in night support, including additional one-to-one hours identified in individuals’ care packages. Our staff support residents to make their own decisions and choices. This may include:
• Support with finances
• Therapeutic activities such as horticulture, music therapy, sensory, arts & crafts and cookery
• Accessing the community
• Support with personal care
• Support to maintain and build new relationships
• Meeting cultural needs
• Learning new skills
Support staff are on hand around the clock, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, on a flexible rota, depending on the level of support required. All staff have a Health and Social Care Diploma or are working towards one. Referrals to Aspens can be made by your Learning Disability Team, Social Services Care Manager or by contacting us directly for an informal chat about your specific needs. We encourage planned visits to help you to feel comfortable in these new surroundings.
