Description
The Small Farm Training Group (SFTG) is a non-profit organisation based in Sussex, covering the Surrey and Kent areas too. Our aim is to enable members to learn new skills through networking – both online and in person – and from our great value training courses on topics from animal husbandry to land management to crafting.
Our members are all country-loving enthusiasts who learn about and share their experiences of how to care for land, livestock and equipment in an efficient and professional way.
- Great value training courses
- Enjoy discounts at various local suppliers
- Gain access to expertise through our forum
Our free monthly meetings (held at Goward Hall, Cade Street, Heathfield) feature interesting and informative speakers, with refreshments provided and are a great opportunity to share experiences. See our Meetings page for more information
We arrange various social events such as an annual BBQ and in September a “bring and share” picnic where members enjoy great food and get to look around a smallholding. We also have Meet the Member Events where we chat with one of the members and see how their smallholding dream is progressing. Our AGM in November starts with formal speeches and is then a social event with a real party atmosphere and great buffet food.
Our members have an opportunity to showcase their produce by selling it at Friday evening meetings, advertising on Facebook and on our forum, and by hosting events on their smallholding.
If you’re not yet a member, we’d love to welcome you – why not come along to one of our meetings or courses and get involved?
