Description
Join Master Gardener Dan Ori for a fun and free gardening tool sharpening workshop as part of Good Food East Sussex month, with soup and a scone from the Havens Café. All welcome!
Keeping your gardening tools clean and sharp saves money in replacement costs, keeps your crops and plants healthier and makes gardening lighter work. Give those rusty secateurs at the back of your shed a new lease of life with this informative and interactive workshop!
The workshop will focus on pruning and cutting tools such as secateurs, loppers and shears, but will also cover hand tools. Why is tool hygiene important and how can you keep your tools clean?
How should you sharpen tools safely? What are Dan’s top tips for healthy pruning? Please bring any tools you’d like to sharpen, but we’ll have some spares if you need more! Although this workshop is aimed at vegetable and fruit growing, the techniques apply equally well to ornamental plants and trees.
