Description
- 9th - 23rd November: Kindertransport Revisited: Children of 1938 who escaped the Nazi terror. The British rescue operation in 1938, known as the Kindertransport, saved the lives of over 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Children were transported via train, boat, and plane to England, soon after the “Kristallnacht” (“Night of the Broken Glass”) attacks on Jewish community on 9th November 1938. The exhibition displays the portraits of children whose lives were saved in other countries around the world. Many of those children had become globally prominent figures in academia, arts, literature and science. Drop in exhibition.
- 14th November, 5pm - 6:45pm: Little Green Pig & Young Writers Collective present Club Amplified. An evening of live performances. Listen to children and young people share their real life stories and ideas on stage. Come and hear what Brighton's children and young people have to say. Expect powerful poems, raps, comedy and more from amazing young writers. Hosted by award winning poet Roy McFarlane. A family friendly event, all ages welcome. Refreshments provided. Free, no booking required - just come along.
