Fireflies Motcombe After School Club is an after school club that is situated in Butterfly rooms adjacent to Motcombe School. It caters for up to twenty four children, with a staffing ratio of 1:8. We provide childcare for children aged between 4 and 11. Our club ethos is to create a friendly, relaxed, and safe environment where kids can be confident to express their individuality. We adhere to the session outcomes suggested by OFSTED; ‘stay safe, enjoy and achieve, economic wellbeing, being healthy, and positive contribution.’ The room is set up for the children to choose their own activities and socialise with their peers. At 4pm we have supper. This consists of a small, healthy meal, from a weekly menu. This includes meals such as beans on toast, spaghetti, sandwiches, etc.

Wraparound childcare
Wraparound childcare is before and after school childcare for primary school aged children in England. The provision typically runs before school from 8am and after school until 6pm, during term time, either on a school site or another local setting such as a community centre, a nursery, or a childminder. This is different from out-of-school activities, or school clubs, which are less frequent and can be a one-off activity.
